Our challenge for this year is to get some UFOs out of the way, – so Gayle Thibideau is running the challenge. Members handed in a list of 10 UFOs that they would like to finish, numbered, & the numbers 2 & 3 were drawn. These are to be brought in to the March meeting. Those that do this, will have their names put into a drawing which will be drawn at the end of the year. The more of your list that you managed to bring in on time will give you more chances to win the draw. The prize will have a value of between $40 & $50. Now ladies, – that is worth working toward. I’m so motivated that my 2 are already done.
Our next meeting is going to be a road trip down to Fort Payne, Alabama, – to Hammers. From there we will go to Collinsville for lunch & a visit to the quilt shop there. We will meet at Cracker Barrel off Hwy 24 at 10 am.
Program this month was on curves. A demo was given on sewing a drunkards path with no pinning or snipping. Then to advance on this concept, a circle was sewn into a quilt using only 4 pins. The ruler used to cut the circle was “Cut A Round” & can be seen at http://www.phillipsfiberart.com
That’s it. I am looking forward to seeing the reasonably priced fabrics at Hammers next month, – because we all know, – you can never have too much fabric!
